Sir Terence Matthews is Chairman of Wesley Clover and also serves as Chairman of Mitel and March Networks, two companies active in developing Internet Protocol (IP) systems for enterprise applications.
Prior to joining March Networks, he served as CEO and Chairman of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company he founded in 1986. Providing leadership and vision for 14 years, Terry helped Newbridge become a leader in the worldwide data networking industry. When France-based Alcatel acquired Newbridge in May 2000, the company employed more than 6,500 employees and recorded FY 1999 revenue of $1.8 billion. In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel Corporation. Under his leadership Mitel grew quickly to become a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise voice systems and products. In 1985, British Telecom bought controlling interest in Mitel.
In 2001, Terry purchased the worldwide Communications Systems division of Mitel, and the Mitel name, and is now owner and non-executive Chairman of Mitel Corporation, a company focused on providing next generation IP telephony solutions for broadband networks. Terry also serves on the board of directors and is Chairman for a number of high technology companies including Bridgewater Systems, March Networks, Solace Systems and Counterpath Corporation.
In addition Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales, Swansea and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities, including the University of Wales, Glamorgan and Swansea, and Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood. |

As Executive Vice President of Wesley Clover, Andrew Fisher is responsible for new venture creation. He currently manages multiple assets within the portfolio and is responsible for government and University outreach programs globally. In additional Andrew run’s the Mitel Affiliate program that is responsible for identifying and commercializing gaps in existing portfolio investments.
He co-founded NewHeights Software Corporation, sold in 2007, where he managed all Service Provider, large enterprise, and vertical market accounts. Leveraging Wesley Clover’s global technology portfolio of over a dozen companies, Andrew spearheads the corporation’s solutions strategies which reach from the network’s core to the end user experience, incorporating Voice-over-IP, IPTV, Unified Communications and IP Multimedia Subsystem technologies.
Andrew is a member of the Rochester Institute of Technology, Industrial Advisory Board for Networking, Security, and Systems Administration and currently sits on the Board for Benbria Corporation, NetVitesse Corporation, Isca Limited, North and Eastern Ontario Digital Media Corporation, Ontario CleanTech Eco-System and Teldio Corporation. Andrew has an academic background in both economics and computer science and engineering and is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. Andrew has held media production roles within the Canadian Department of National Defence and Natural Resources Canada. |

Patrick Smith retired from Sprint in 2001, where he served as Senior Vice President of Systems Integration and Technology Planning for the company's Information Technology division for seven years. There, he worked in concert with the Senior Vice President for Network Design and Planning and was responsible for the development of the One Sprint program, which has resulted in a substantial reduction in Sprint's costs for enterprise networking, IT infrastructure and development services. He provided the technology vision and leadership for Sprint's entry into the Managed Services business, now one of the major profit growth areas in the company. Prior to joining Sprint, Mr. Smith was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Comdisco, and from 1983 to 1994, he served as the CTO for SHL, Systemhouse Inc.
Pat currently sits on the executive board as Executive Chairman of Wavesat, is a Director for Gridpoint, and sits on the boards of Tranzeo Wireless, Level Platforms and Teldio Corporation. He previously represented Sprint US on the Sprint Canada executive board for 4 years. |

Bernie Watts is the CEO of London Hydro, a $350 million a year electricity distribution company located in South Western Ontario. During his 12 year tenure, he has guided the company through the minefield of deregulation and firmly establishing its reputation as being a low cost high quality provider of energy. Bernie initiated a number of retail activities including LONDONCONNECT(tm) a telecom affiliate that provided lit services to businesses and ISP's in the London area. More recently, the company has led a consortium of over 30 utilities in a "Smart Meter" buying group and has won national and international awards for innovation with respect to conservation and demand side management programs as well as novel approaches in the application and rollout of various IS technologies. London Hydro was the first electrical utility in Ontario to introduce VoIP technology.
Prior to joining London Hydro, Bernie worked for Mitel Corp spending many years in Ireland/UK, Mexico, and Hong Kong operating the facilities while developing the market/sales interests of the company. He established Newbridge Networks Asia in Japan creating joint venture partnerships with Sumitmo Corporation, Kagai Bhushan Kashai, and Lucky Goldstar International in Korea. Bernie was an Officer of Mitel Corporation and held several directorships in various affiliated companies.
Before immigrating to Canada, in 1973, Bernie was employed as a telecommunications lecturer with Plessy Telecommunications in Liverpool specializing in 5005 Crossbar switching systems and upon arrival in Canada was employed by ITT in Guelph Ontario, initially as a product engineer before moving into sales and marketing as a product line manager.
Bernie was educated in the United Kingdom at Riverdale College in Liverpool and holds a BSc degree in Telecom. |

Stephen Brown is Vice President of U.S Systems Engineering at Mitel. His team of more than 60 professional men and women provide consultative design and engineering support for Mitel’s product and applications portfolio to their extensive network of business partners and U.S. based sales force.
Stephen joined Mitel in 1996. Since joining Mitel, Stephen has served in many roles ranging from Technical Support, Systems/Sales Engineering, Business Development, and Strategic Alliance management. He has consistently contributed to optimizing performance levels, driving business growth, facilitating key alliances, and defining and implementing strategic technology-driven solutions.
From 1990 to 1996 Stephen worked in the integrator space designing and installing many comprehensive voice and data networks.
Stephen began his career in communications in 1990 after a three year commitment to the U.S. Army. He served with the 37th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Airborne); achieving the rank of (E-5, Sergeant, Non-Commissioned Officer).

Andy Elliot is Mitel’s EMEA marketing director responsible for Mitel’s marketing strategy and plan in the UK, Europe, Middle East&Africa markets. His remit covers channel marketing programs and support, vertical marketing propositions and campaigns, solutions marketing, partner marketing, marketing communications and PR for the EMEA region. Andy is based at Mitel’s EMEA headquarters in the UK and manages a team of marketing specialists located in the UK, Netherlands and France.
Andy joined Mitel in 1998 as channel marketing manager and progressed to head of global channel marketing, before being appointed EMEA marketing director in 2005. He was responsible for creating and developing Mitel’s award winning channel marketing programs, playing a key role as a member of the EMEA management team in driving Mitel’s successful evolution as a channel centric business, expansion into new country markets and towards a position of regional market leadership in IP communications.
Andy has over 18 years of UK and international marketing experience in the communications industry. Prior to joining Mitel, Andy studied for a BA degree in marketing at Strathclyde University Business School in Glasgow, Scotland. He started his career in product marketing at Philips Business Communications and was UK marketing director for TSc. |
